Hayward's polypropylene bag filter housings consist of a one piece injection molded body with a one piece injection molded chamber cover. The ports are true-union style in support of easy installation and attachment of valves or fittings. The chamber cover is easily removed without tools and its buttress threads ensure a tight seal with simple hand tightening. The underside of the cover is convex, displacing fluid so that when the cover is removed the liquid level is below the top of the filter body, reducing spillage and incidental contact (and waste) of process fluid. The included cover vent valve assists with quick drainage as well as venting air from the housing during fill-up; the height of the cover handles protect the cover vent valve from damage if the cover is dropped.
The inside of Hayward polypropylene bag filter housings contain an ergonomically friendly filter bag support basket. It has an integrated handle to secure the filter bag to the support basket and the basket has a chamfered design with captured o-ring to ensure a by-pass free seal. The injection molded design is very smooth to aid with removing filled filter bags. The support basket also has molded legs to properly position the support basket within the bag filter housing. An optional support basket feature is a clamshell design which makes it easier to insert of 32" long filter bags and to remove very filled filter bags. The support baskets are made of polypropylene or in 316SS.
