Hayward Industries was founded in 1925 and became the most recognized industrial filtration products brand within 80 years. Loeffler Filter-Technik was acquired by Hayward in 1998 and GAF Filter Systems was acquired by them in 1999, thus solidifying their dominance with a  majority of the global market share for industrial bag filter housings and filter bags. 

 

The GAF and Loeffler product lines, along with their fabricated and cast pipeline strainer products where manufactured and sold under the Hayward Filtration division.   The merging of all these complimentary products under a single division enticed Eaton Hydraulics LLC's  Filtration Division to acquire Hayward Filtration in 2005.

 

The non-alloy industrial pipeline strainer, bag filter housing and industrial valve products were retained by Hayward Industries under its Hayward Flow Control division.  This division is separate from the Hayward Pool Products division; although located within the same manufacturing building, the management, manufacturing operations and sales force  are completely separate from each other.

 

The product breadth after the acquisition of Hayward's alloy filtration products by Eaton was further enhanced by  the acquisition of Ronningen-Petter in 2006 and both Internormen Technology Group and Begerow GmbH & Co. in 2011. The merging of all of these products and designs coupled with evolution of manufacturing procedures has resulted in an optimized product offering.  As an example, Eatons' Flowline II bag filter housings are hydroformed to minimize the number of welds required, which in-turn promotes a smoother internal finish and reduces product cost.  Such changes during the past 20 years has resulted in most components of original GAF, Loeffler and Hayward bag filter vessels to become obsolete.  While there are some components that are incorporated within the current product offering, most are not, thus complete vessel replacement is often necessary.
