Our filter cartridges are used for a variety of applications found in the general industrial, chemical, biofuel/energy, pharmaceutical and food/beverage industries. Following is a brief description of each filter cartridge type, listed in order of expense; from least expensive to most expensive. The cost of a filter cartridge reflects the type and amount of material used in its construction along with special design features such as efficiency and sealing. All of our filter cartridges are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality control standards and several satisfy FDA regulations. Our filter cartridges are compatible with all Eaton filter cartridge housings and most other brands as well.
Melt blown polypropylene filter cartridges which have a multi-density design to simultaneously retain both coarse and fine particles. The outer portion consists of non-woven melt blown polypropylene for retention of larger particles. The inner area consists of a bi-component polypropylene and polyethylene fiber inner core to retain the finer particulate that traversed through the melt blown section. No surfactants are present which could contribute to foaming or other undesirable performance and the material of construction satisfies FDA CFR 177 requirements. Our melt blown filter cartridges are offered in four designs encompassing both nominal and absolute rated retentions and single and multi-zone designs for retentions within ½ to 150 microns.
Our filter cartridges are made from polypropylene or borosilicate micro fiberglass materials. All are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality control standards to provide precise retention consistency. Most of our pleated filter cartridges are constructed from FDA approved materials that satisfy USP Class VI biological tests for plastics. The most common type of application for pleated filter cartridges are agglomerated particle and gel retention filtration applications for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. Our pleated filter cartridges have up to 115 ft2 surface area with an absolute retention range from 0.2 µm to 100.0 µm.
Membrane filter cartridges are made from Polyethersulfone (PES) and Teflon (PTFE) under ISO 9001 quality control standards to provide absolute retention consistency. Membrane filter cartridges are used for final filtration of wine and beverages, ultrapure water filtration, DI water, photo resists, pharmaceutical intermediates, strong acids/bases, compressed gases and fermentation air. There are four membrane filter cartridge designs having up to 7 ft2 of surface area with an absolute retention range from 0.05 µm to 1.0 µm. All LOFMEM filter cartridges are manufactured in an ISO Class 7 cleanroom and 100% flushed.
Made from sintered stainless steel or titanium, metal filter cartridges are used for extreme temperatures and differential pressures that non-alloy filter cartridges cannot handle.
