SNAP-RING^® filter bags are manufactured from high-quality, silicone-free needle felt materials including polypropylene, polyester, nylon, wool, PTFE, and meta-Aramid (HT). ISO 9001:2008 quality control standards assure performance consistency for every order. Heavy-duty sewing threads and sealing rings are produced to stringent, silicone-free specifications.

These bags feature nominally rated retentions from 1 to 800 microns and are considered the industry standard design for #1 through #4 size bag filter housings. They are compatible with almost any brand of housing, including Eaton, Hayward, GAF, American Felt, Loeffler, FSI, and Rosedale.

Sizing and Sealing

Standard sizes include:

#1 Size: 7" diameter by 17" length.
#2 Size: 7" diameter by 32" length.
#3 Size: 4" diameter by 9" length.
#4 Size: 4" diameter by 15" length.

The snap ring—available in zinc-plated steel, stainless steel, polypropylene, or nylon—is fully enclosed within the needle felt to form a seal against the housing's restrainer basket. This design is ideal for dirty water, corrosive chemicals, and aggressive solvents where crush-seal designs may be incompatible.

Needle Felt Construction and Performance

Needle felt is created by perforating a web of fibers with barbed needles, resulting in an irregular, entangled pore structure. Particles are retained both on the surface and within the depth of the material.

Performance Specs: SNAP-RING^® bags withstand up to 36 PSI differential pressure; replacement is recommended at 15 PSI. A #2 size bag supports flow rates up to 176 GPM, while a #1 size supports up to 88 GPM.

While available in 1, 5, and 10 microns, these bags are most efficient for particles > 25 microns. For critical applications requiring retention of particles < 25 microns, we recommend the UNIBAG or SENTINEL crush-ring designs.
